Tips and Tricks for ClearCorrect Wearers

June 30, 2019

Many people nowadays are thankful for the technological advancements that made it possible for newer orthodontic options to become more discreet and quick. Instead of spending a year or two of wearing metal components, people can now get results in a shorter amount of time. Plus, patients no longer have to experience the hassles associated with traditional orthodontic treatments like discomfort and troublesome monthly visits. What more can you ask for?

At Archway Dental, we offer the ClearCorrect brand of aligners for our patients who want to achieve straighter teeth in a more discreet fashion. And for them to get the best possible results, here are some tips we prepared.

Care for the aligners

For patients to get the most out of their ClearCorrect experience, they should care for the appliance to keep it in shape like their teeth. The good news is, cleaning the aligners is not that hard as what most people think. Using a soft-bristled toothbrush, gentle antibacterial soap, and warm water would suffice.

Observe the first 48 hours

It is imperative for patients to wear the aligners as much as possible, but it goes double for the first few days after undergoing the treatment. That is because this is the time when the teeth move the most, so the guidance of the clear aligners are highly necessary.

Be committed

For patients to get the best results in record time, dentists highly recommend them to wear the clear aligners for 22 hours every day. Although they have the freedom to take out the aligners anytime, remember that this will delay the treatment.

Follow the correct schedule and sequence

Instead of visiting the dentist monthly for adjustments, patients are given sets of aligner trays they need to switch out depending on the plan by the dentist. Make sure to switch out as advised while following the correct sequence not to delay the treatment and cause unnecessary discomfort.

Practice with the aligner on

When wearing the aligners, patients may lisp at times, but this does not mean that they should take out the trays. To help make adjusting to the appliance faster, wear the aligners as much as possible, and try to speak out loud. Doing this will help the patient regain their normal speech.
